Habit: Reflective (Black) Friday

Inspiration for today taken from habit.

A picture, a few words, a little mystery, that somehow form a visual journal of my previous week.

Have a great weekend, friends.
Nothing was the same, yet it felt like old times.

Before his feet hit the floor, he called down to take the butter out. I love baking day.
***
In the twilight, we watched the coyote circle the mama cow and her newborn calf. It eventually ran off, but I could not shake a feeling of helplessness.
***
She is unshockable – if that is even a word – and I love her dearly for being so.
***
I finally relented and cancelled school for the day.
***
We had a lovely day: great food, fun friends and a clean kitchen to come home to.

  1. Sheila, Happy Day of Giving Thanks. Today is another day of doing the same, etc. etc. …. (I,m not sure of the punctuation.)

    • Yes, that is exactly what they are – little jelly pies. Vincent’s doing of course, I would never bake something so fussy. We greased the muffin tin and they just came out, well, easy as pie! (lol, couldn’t resist.) I love the idea of making jam thumbprints in a muffin tin, if you could imagine that. (I can also imagine my waistline if such a concoction were in my house! Not so pleasant.) Love to you. Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving.

      • Thanks for sharing! We were debating doing similar with pie crust and GADS of pumpkin pie filling left over. Now I know, thanks to my favorite 10 year old baker, that it can, in fact, be done (:

We did have a wonderful thanksgiving. I hiope you guys did too!!
        xo

        • I made outrageous pumpkin pancakes with our leftover pumpkin pie filling. I actually had leftover pancake batter, leftover crepe batter and the leftover pancake batter in the fridge at the same time – I mixed all three together and cooked them up! Yummy.

Yes our Thanksgiving was great. Easy and fun.
